8. To remove kettle from swivel base simply lift up.

Note: Make sure lid is closed before pouring hot water from the kettle.

9. Hold kettle level when pouring, especially when filled to maximum. Do not pour too fast.

10. Empty and unplug the kettle when not in use.

REMOVABLE FILTER

Always boil water with the filter in place just behind the spout.

CONCEALED HEATING ELEMENT

This unit has a boil/dry protection safety feature that automatically turns off the kettle when boil-

ing starts or when there is no water inside the kettle.

BUILT-IN SCALE PROTECTION

Lime scale forms over time when water is heated. Though harmless, it may be bothersome. The

concealed heating element in the kettle is designed to help reduce scale buildup. The kettle has a

scale filter at the bottom of the pour spout to prevent particles from pouring into your beverage.

CARE AND CLEANING

This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.

• Wipetheexteriorofthekettleandbasewithadampclothorspongeanddry.Theconcealed

heating element at the bottom of the interior may discolor. This will not affect performance. Do

not use abrasive soaps, cleansers, or scouring pads.

• Overtime,thekettlemayheatupbutwillnotboil,dependingonyouruseandthehardnessof

thewaterinyourarea.Whenthishappens,itistimefordescaling.Useascale/limeremover

and follow its manufacturer’s directions.

CORD STORAGE

Conveniently store the cord beneath the base by wrapping it around the grooves on the base.

GROUNDED PLUG

As a safety feature, this product is equipped with a grounded plug, which will only fit into

athree-prongoutlet.donotattempttodefeatthissafetyfeature.Improperconnection

of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified

electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.

TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW

Warning: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of

the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the

outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by

authorized service personnel.

ELECTRICAL CORD

1. A short power cord (or detachable power cord) is be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming

entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

2.Longerdetachablepowercordsorextensioncordsareavailableandmaybeusedifcareisexercisedin

their use.

3.Ifalongdetachablepowercordorextensioncordisused,

a) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension cord should be at

least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,

c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop

HOW TO USE

This unit is for household use only.

GETTING STARTED

• Beforerstuse,washtheinteriorofthekettleandtheremovablelterwithhotsoapywaterand

rinse well until water is clear.

• Selectalevelsurfacewherethisunitistobeusedallowingenoughspaceforsteamtoescape

without damage to counters, cabinets and walls.

• Uncoilpowercordfromcordstorageatbottomoftheswivelbase.

• Fillkettlewith2¾cupscoldtapwaterand2cupsvinegarandplaceonswivelbase.Closecover.

• Plugcordintostandardelectricaloutlet.

• Bringtoafullboilanddiscardwater.

• Fillkettlewithatleast6cupsofcoldtapwater.Bringtofullboilanddiscard;repeat.Kettleisnow

ready for use.

Note: ThekettlewillonlyoperatewhentheI/O(On/Off)switchisintheI(On)position.Thekettle

will automatically switch off once the water has boiled. The kettle will automatically shut off if

there is no water in the kettle.

FILLING THE KETTLE

Presslidreleasebuttontoopencoverofkettle.Fillwithdesiredamountofcoldtapwater(from

4¼to7cups).Do not fill past the Max Fill line on the water window to prevent boiling water from

spilling onto the counter.

NOTE:

• Donotoperatethekettlewithoutwater.

• Do not fill past Max Fill line on the water window.

• Donotopenthecoverwhilewaterisheating.

BOILING WATER

1.Presslidtoclose.

2.Placekettleontheswivelbasesotheelementonthebottomofthekettlerestssecurelyontheswivel

base.

3.Positionkettlewithspoutfacingawayfromwalls,cabinetsandyourbody.

4.Plugtheswivelbaseintoastandardelectricaloutlet.

5.PresstheI/O(On/Off)switchbuttontotheI(on)position(therewillbeaclick),thelightcomesonandthe

water begins to heat.

6.Whenwaterboils,thekettlewillautomaticallyshutoffandtheindicatorlightwillgoout.Donottrytohold

theswitchintheI(ON)positiononcethewaterhasboiled.

7.To re-boil water, first allow the kettle to cool. BeforepressingtheI/O(On/Off)switchcheckthatthere

isenoughwaterinthekettle.SimplypresstheI/O(On/Off)switchtotheI(ON)positionorpouroutany

unused water and refill.

Warning: Kettle filled with boiling water is hot. Use only the stay-cool handle to pick it up.

When taking kettle to the table, carry kettle with caution to avoid spillage. Set it on a trivet

or hot pad to protect the table surface or tablecloth.

COMO USAR

Este producto es solamente para uso doméstico.

PRIMEROS PASOS

• Antes de usar por primera vez, lave el interior del hervidor y el filtro removible con agua caliente

jabonosa y enjuáguelo bien hasta que el agua salga clara.

• Seleccioneunasupercieplanadondevayaasituarelhervidorparautilizarlo,quecuenteconel

espacio suficiente para que el vapor escape sin dañar el mostrador, los gabinetes o las paredes.

• Desenrolle el cable de alimentación de guardar el cable en la parte inferior de la base giratoria.

• Lleneelhervidorcon2¾tazasdeaguafríadelallavey2tazasdevinagreycolóquelosobrela

base giratoria. Cierre la tapa.

• Enchufe el cable a un tomacorriente estándar.

• Deje que el agua hierva y luego deséchela.

• Lleneelhervidorconporlomenos6tazasdeaguafríadellave.Dejequeelaguahiervayluego

deséchela;repitaestepaso.Suhervidoryaestálistoparautilizar.

Nota: Elhervidorsolofuncionarácuandoelinterruptordeencendido/apagado(I/O)estéenla

posicióndeencendido(I).Elhervidorseapagaráautomáticamenteunavezqueelaguahaya

hervido. El hervidor se apagará automáticamente si no tiene agua.

PARA LLENAR EL HERVIDOR

Presioneelbotónparasoltaryabrirlatapadelhervidor.Lleneelhervidorconlacantidaddeseada

deaguafríadelallave(de4¼a7tazas).Nosobrepaselalíneamáximadellenadoenlaventana

de agua para evitar que el agua hirviendo se derrame sobre el mostrador.

Nota:

• Nopongaelhervidorafuncionarsinagua.

• Nosobrepaselalíneamáximadellenadoenlaventanadeagua.

• Noabralatapamientraselaguaseestécalentando.

PARA HERVIR AGUA

1.Presionelatapaparacerrarla.

2.Coloqueelhervidorenlabasedemaneraqueelelementodecalordebajodelhervidordescansecon

seguridad sobre la base.

3.Posicioneelhervidordeformaquelaboquillaquedemirandoendireccióncontrariayalejadadelas

paredes, los gabinetes y su cuerpo.

4.Enchufelabaseauntomacorrienteestándar.

5.Presioneelinterruptordeencendido/apagado(I/O)alaposicióndeencendido(I)(escucharáunclic),la

luz indicadora de funcionamiento se ilumina y el agua comienza a calentar.

6.Cuandoelaguahierva,elhervidorseapagaráautomáticamenteylaluzindicadoradefuncionamiento

seapagará.Nointentemantenerelinterruptorenlaposicióndeencendido(I)unavezqueelaguahaya

hervido.

7.Paravolverautilizarelhervidor,dejequeseenfríe.Antesdepresionarelinterruptordeencendido/

apagado(I/O),veriquequehayasucientecantidaddeaguaenelinteriordelhervidor.Simplemente

presioneelinterruptordeencendido/apagado(I/O)demodoquequedeenlaposicióndeencendido(I)o

bien deseche el agua que no haya utilizado y vuelva a llenar el hervidor.

Advertencia: El hervidor se calienta cuando contiene agua que está hirviendo. Levántelo

solamente por el asa fría. Si se transporta el hervidor a la mesa, llévelo con cuidado para

evitar derrames. Colóquelo sobre una placa o almohadilla resistente al calor para proteger

la superficie de la mesa o el mantel.

8.Pararetirarelhervidordelabasegiratoria,simplementelevántelo.

Nota: Asegúresedequelatapaestécerradaantesdeserviraguacaliente.

9.Sirvaelaguaconcuidado,especialmentecuandoelhervidorestállenoalmáximo.Nosirvamuyrápido.

10.Vacíeydesenchufeelhervidorcuandonoseencuentreenuso.

FILTRO REMOVIBLE

Siemprehiervaaguaconelfiltroenposición,detrásdelaboquilla.

ELEMENTO DE CALOR OCULTO

El hervidor cuenta con un sistema de protección y seguridad que impide que éste hierva hasta

secarse o en seco, el cual lo apaga automáticamente cuando comienza a hervir o cuando no tiene

agua.

PROTECCIÓN INTEGRADA CONTRA SARRO

Con el transcurso del tiempo, se forma sarro al calentar agua. Aunque no es dañino, el sarro

puede resultar molestoso. El elemento de calor oculto en el hervidor está diseñado para ayudar a

reducir la acumulación de sarro. El hervidor cuenta con un filtro removible en la parte inferior de la

boquilla que evita que se cuelen partículas dentro del líquido que se va a consumir.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA

Este aparato no contiene partes que el consumidor pueda reparar. En caso de requerir servicio,

por favor acuda a personal de servicio calificado.
