6. Do not immerse the Digital Kettle in water or any other
liquid.
7. Always place the Digital Kettle on a stable, flat heat-
resistant surface. Also ensure that the surface can take
the weight of the unit during use.
8. The Digital Kettle is intended for DOMESTIC USE ONLY
and should not be used for commercial purposes.
The Digital Kettle should only be used for its intended
purpose.
9. Do not leave the unit unattended when in use.
10. Do not move or lift the Digital Kettle while it is operating
or while it is connected to the mains electrical supply.
11. The use of attachments, not specifically recommended
by the manufacturer, must not be used as they may
cause personal injury or damage to the appliance.
12. Before cleaning the Digital kettle, allow it to cool down
13. Make sure that the Digital Kettle is switched 'OFF' and
remove the plug from the mains electrical supply when
it is not in use, before it is cleaned and while it is being
repaired.
14. To unplug the appliance, grasp the plug firmly and
remove it from the mains electrical supply. DO NOT

15. Check the Digital Kettle's power cord carefully regularly
for damage. If the power cord is damaged in any way,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid an
electrical hazard.
16. Do not overfill the kettle. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling
water will be ejected.
17. Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp table
edges or come into contact with hot surfaces.
18. To prevent the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse
the power cord, plug, or any non-removable parts of
this Digital Kettle in water or any other liquid.
19. Never use the Digital Kettle if it is damaged in any way.
20. All repairs should be done by a qualified electrician.
Improper repairs may place the user atrisk.
21. When handing this product over to a third party, ensure
that this instruction manual is supplied with the appliance.
22. The Kettle must not be submerged in water as any
contact with the electrical parts will create the risk
of malfunction and electric shock. Do not use the
appliance with damp or wet hands.

BEFORE FIRST USE
NOTE:
• The Digital Kettle must only be used with the supplied power base.
• Remove all the packaging material.
• Place the power base on a dry level surface.
• It is recommended that the Digital Kettle be washed and rinsed thoroughly before first use.
USING THE DIGITAL KETTLE
1. Ensure that the Digital Kettle is unplugged.
2. Open the lid by pressing the automatic lid button
3. Never fill the Digital Kettle when it is on its base.
4. Do not use the Digital Kettle without water.
5. Fill the Digital Kettle with the desired amount of fresh water. You may fill the Digital Kettle
through the spout as this will ensure good maintenance of the filter.
6. Ensure that the water level is filled to at least the MIN water level and do not exceed the MAX
level.
7. When the Digital Kettle has been filled, place it firmly on its base.
8. Ensure that the lid is properly closed by pressing it down firmly so as to close properly.
9. Connect the mains plug to the mains electrical supply making sure that the voltage and
frequency is the same as detailed on the rating plate found on the base of the Digital Kettle.
10. All the pre-set buttons on the handle will illuminate momentarily to indicate that there is power.
11. To start the Digital Kettle, press the desired water temperature pre-set button once. The Digital
Kettle will 'beep' once and the selected temperature button will flash until the water has
reached the pre-set temperature at which point the Digital Kettle will 'beep' 3 times indicating
that the cycle is complete.
12. You may change your selection at any stage during a pre-set cycle by simply pressing
another pre-set button once. The digital Kettle will 'beep' once indicating that a new pre-set
temperature has been selected and the new pre-set button will start flashing.
13. Please note that the surface of the heating element will maintain residual heat after heating.
BOIL MODE (STARTING WITH COLD WATER)
Select and press the pre-set 100°C button once. The Digital Kettle will 'beep' once and the 100°C
button will flash. It will continue flashing until the water temperature reaches the pre-set temperature
of 100°C/boiling point.
1. When the water starts heating up, the water colour illumination will be green, indicating that
the water temperature is below 70°C and is heating up.
2. When the water temperature reaches 70°C, the 70°C button will illuminate and the water
colour illumination will become blue (70-79°C).
3. When the water temperature reaches 80°C, both the 70°C and 80°C buttons will illuminate
and the water colour illumination will become orange (80-94°C).
4. When the water temperature reaches 95°C, the 70°C; 80°C and 95°C buttons will illuminate
and the water colour illumination will become red (95-100°C).
5. At 100°C/boiling point the Digital Kettle will 'beep' 3 times indicating that the boiling cycle is
complete. The 70°C; 80°C and 95°C buttons will switch off and the 100°C button will stop
flashing and become a steady light for 2 minutes and then it will switch off.
6. The red water colour illumination will continue for 2 minutes and then it will switch off.
7. Should you wish to change your pre-set temperature selection at any time during the boiling
cycle, simply press the new pre-set temperature button once (e.g. 80°C button) and the Digital
Kettle will beep once, indicating that a new pre-set water temperature has been selected. The
80°C button will start flashing.
8. THE DIGITAL KETTLE WILL SWITCH OFF AUTOMATICALLY as soon as the water reaches boiling
point or any other selected pre-set temperature. The Digital Kettle will automatically switch off
and 'beep' 3 times. The selected pre-set button will stop flashing and become a steady light
for 2 minutes and the colour illumination will continue for 2 minutes after which both lights will
switch off.
9. To switch off the Digital Kettle manually, press the selected pre-set button once and the Digital
Kettle will 'beep' once. The selected pre-set button will switch off, the water colour illumination
will switch off and the Digital Kettle will switch off. This can be done at any point during the
'Heat Up' or 'Keep Warm' cycles.
KEEP WARM MODE
The Digital Kettle offers a unique KEEP WARM MODE that can be used before, during or on completion
of the pre-set cycle. When the water temperature reaches 70°C the KEEP WARM function will hold
the temperature constant for 30 minutes.
KEEP WARM MODE starting with hot water
Once the pre-set cycle is complete, you may activate the 'Keep Warm' function by pressing any of the
pre-set buttons for 3 seconds until the Digital Kettle 'beeps' twice. The selected pre-set temperature
button will flash until the water reaches the new pre-set temperature and then the Digital Kettle will
'beep' 3 times. The selected pre-set temperature button will become a steady light and the selected
temperature will be maintained in 'Keep Warm' mode tor 30minutes. After 30minutes, the selected
pre-set button and the water colour illumination will switch off and the Digital Kettle will switch off
automatically. If a different temperature is required, change the selection at any time by simply
pressing a different pre-set button for 3 seconds until the Digital Kettle 'beeps' twice and the new pre-
set button starts flashing.
KEEP WARM MODE starting with cold water
Press the pre-set button for 3 seconds until the Digital Kettle beeps twice. The selected pre-set
button will flash as the water goes through its temperature and water colour illumination cycles until it
reaches the pre-set temperature at which point the Digital Kettle will beep 3times. The selected pre-
set button will become a steady light; the water colour illumination will remain on and the selected
temperature will be maintained in 'Keep Warm' mode for 30minutes. After 30minutes, the selected
pre-set button and the water colour illumination will switch off and the Digital Kettle will switch off
automatically.

NOTE:
This table is a recommended guide only and may vary depending on personal preference, brand and
age of tea/coffee used. Experiment with your favourite tea/coffee and select a temperature setting
option to suit your personal taste.
DESCALING
Furring up is a common problem in hard water areas, and it is recommended that you descale the
Digital Kettle regularly.
1. To descale, fill the Digital Kettle with 1 L cold water and add approximately 75ml vinegar.
2. Boil the water and allow it to stand overnight.
3. Re-boil the water the next day.
4. Discard the re-boiled water and refill the Digital Kettle with fresh water.
5. Boil the fresh water. This boiled water must also be discarded.
NOTE: Normal commercial descalers for kettles may also be used. Follow the instructions carefully for
the given descaler.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
6. Remove the mains plug from the mains electrical supply before cleaning.
7. Do not immerse the Digital Kettle in water or any other liquid.
8. Avoid the use of solvents, polish, abrasive or aerosol cleaners as they may damage the surface
of the Digital Kettle.
9. Clean the exterior by wiping with a slightly dampened soft cloth.
10. The inside of the Digital Kettle may be cleaned using a mild detergent. It must be thoroughly
rinsed before re-use.
11. The removable mesh filter prevents scale from falling into your cup when pouring. This
filter neither treats nor removes the hardness of the water. Never remove the filter when the
appliance is full of hot water.
12. It is important to clean the filter regularly.
13. Remove the filter and place it under a running tap whilst wet, then dry it and brush it gently
before re-inserting it into the spout.
14. NOTE: Make sure that the Digital Kettle is thoroughly dried before reconnecting it to the mains
electrical supply.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
The warranty will not be valid if:
1. The product has not been installed, operated or maintained in accordance with the
manufacturer's operating instructions provided with the product
2. The product has been used for any purpose other than its intended function.
3. The damage or malfunction of the product is caused by any of the following:
• Incorrect voltage
• Accidents (including liquid or moisture damage)
• Misuse or abuse of the product
• Faulty or improper installation
• Mains supply problems, including power spikes or lightning damage
• Infestation by insects
• Tampering or modification of the product by persons other than authorised service personnel
• Exposure to abnormally corrosive materials
• Insertion of foreign objects into the unit
• Used with accessories not pre-approved by Brabantia
