When the battery is low

Replace the battery with a new one when the POWER

indicator blinks or lights o.

You can use the headphones even without turning on

the power. In this case, the noise canceling function,

Digital Equalizer and S-Master are not active, and the

headphones operate as passive headphones.

Installing the earbuds

If the earbuds do not t your ears correctly, the noise

canceling eect will not be optimal. To optimize noise

canceling and to enjoy better sound quality, change the

earbuds to another size, or adjust the earbuds position

to t your ears comfortably and snugly.

e M size earbuds are attached to the headphones

before shipment. If you feel the M size earbuds do not

suit your ears, replace them with the supplied S or L size

earbuds. Conrm the size of the earbuds by checking

color inside. When you change the earbuds, turn to

install them rmly on the headphones to prevent the

earbud from detaching and remaining in your ear.

eective attenuation of ambient noise.

Notes

Prolonged use of the noise isolation earbuds may strain your

ears due to their snug t. If you experience discomfort or pain

in your ears, recommend to take a short break.

e pressure-relieving urethane cushion is extremely so.

erefore, do not pinch or pull the urethane cushion. If the

urethane cushion is broken or detached from the earbuds, it

will not take its correct position and the earbuds will lose their

noise isolation function.

e pressure-relieving urethane cushion may deteriorate due

to long-term storage or use. If the pressure-relieving power is

lost and the urethane cushion becomes hard, the earbuds may

lose their noise isolation function.

Do not wash the noise isolation earbuds. Keep them

dry, and avoid accumulation of water in the pressure-

relieving urethane-cushions. Not doing so may cause early

deterioration.

To detach an earbud

While holding the headphone, twist and pull the earbud

Tip

If the earbud slips and cannot be detached, wrap it in a dry so

cloth.

Installing a battery

1 Push and slide the battery lid on the rear of

the control box fully, and open.

Before opening the battery lid, check that the

claws of the lid are seen.

Twist and push the earbud onto the headphone to where

the end of the earbud’s colored part aligns with .

2 Wear the headphones marked  in your right

ear and the one marked  ( has a tactile

dot for ease of use.) in your le ear. Push the

earbud into your ear carefully so that the

earbud ts the hole of your ear snugly.

Be sure the earbuds t your ears correctly, otherwise noise

canceling will not function properly.

Adjust the earbuds position to sit on your ear comfortably

so that they t your ears snugly.

Headphones have projection at rear side. It will t at the

hollow in the ear.

Tip

e stay-in design uses a thermoplastic elastomer that is pliable

to t the hollow of your ear. If it does not stabilise, adjust its

position.

3 Turn on the power of the headphones.

e POWER indicator lights up in green.

When power is turned on, ambient noise is

reduced, and you can listen to music more

clearly at a lower volume.

Notes

Aer you turn on the power of the headphones, you may hear

a slight hiss. is is the operating sound of the noise canceling

function, not a malfunction.

Do not cover the microphone of the headphones with your

hands. e noise canceling function may not work properly.

Do not use the headphones when use of electronic

equipment is prohibited or when use of personal

headphones for in-ight music services is prohibited.

Utilizing the AI Noise

Canceling

AI Noise Canceling

AI Noise Canceling is a useful function that

automatically selects one of the noise canceling modes.

is function provides the most eective noise canceling

mode by immediately analyzing ambient sound

components when the AI NC button is pressed.

Press the AI NC button.

When you press the AI NC button and the POWER

switch is set to “ON”, beep sounds come from the

headphones to inform you that the unit has started

analyzing ambient sound components (approx. 3

seconds).

During analysis, sound reproduction from the unit is

stopped and the POWER indicator blinks.

When analysis is completed, the most eective noise

canceling mode is set automatically, and sound

reproduction from the headphones starts.

Noise canceling mode types

NC Mode A: Noise mainly in an airplane is eectively

reduced.

NC Mode B: Noise mainly in a bus or a train is

eectively reduced.

NC Mode C: Noise mainly found in an oce

environment (PC, copier, air ventilation,

etc.) is eectively reduced.

Tips

When the power of the headphones is turned on, NC Mode

A is set. (See “Noise canceling mode types” for details about

NC Mode A.)

Press the AI NC button again to reset the noise canceling

mode if ambient noise has changed, such as when you move

outdoors from a room.

Hearing environmental

Press the MONITOR button while the POWER switch

is set to “ON”, playback silences, and you can hear the

surrounding environment. To cancel this function, press

the MONITOR button again.

Using the clip

You can fasten the control box by its clip on a shirt

pocket.

You can adjust the cord length by winding the cord on

the cord adjuster. (e cord can be wound to the cord

adjuster up to 40 cm. If you wind more, the cord comes

o from the cord adjuster easily.)

Precautions

e headphones contain a noise canceling circuit.

What is noise canceling?

e noise canceling circuit actually senses outside noise

with built-in microphones and sends an equal-but-

opposite canceling signal to the headphones.

e noise canceling eect may not be pronounced in a

very quiet environment, or some noise may be heard.

e noise canceling eect may vary depending on how

you wear the headphones.

e noise canceling function works for noise in the

low frequency band primarily. Although noise is

reduced, it is not canceled completely.

When you use the headphones in a train or a car, noise

may occur depending on street conditions.

Mobile phones may cause interference and noise.

Should this occur, locate the headphones further away

from the mobile phone.

If headphone sound is noisy, move the control box

away from sources of interference, such as a radio, etc.

Notes on usage

Clean the headphones with a so dry cloth.

Do not leave the plug dirty otherwise the sound may

be distorted.

Be sure to consult a Sony dealer when the earbuds

become dirty or damaged, or when the headphones

require repair work.

Do not leave the stereo headphones in a location

subject to direct sunlight, heat or moisture.

Do not subject the headphones to excessive shock.

Handle the driver units carefully.

If you feel drowsy or sick while using these

headphones, stop use immediately.

Install the earbuds rmly onto the headphones. If an

earbud accidentally detaches and is le in your ear, it

may cause injury.

Notes on headphones

Preventing hearing damage

Avoid using headphones at high volume. Hearing

experts advise against continuous, loud and extended

play. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the

volume or discontinue use.

Do not use headphones while driving and cycling,

etc.

As headphones reduce outside sounds, they may

cause a trac accident. Also, avoid listening with

your headphones in situations where hearing must

not be impaired, for example, a railroad crossing, a

construction site, etc.

Note on static electricity

In particularly dry air conditions, noise or sound

skipping may occur, or mild tingling may be felt on your

ears. is is a result of static electricity accumulated in

the body, and not a malfunction of the headphones.

e eect can be minimized by wearing clothes made

from natural materials.

If you have any questions or problems concerning

the system that are not covered in this manual, please

consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Troubleshooting

No sound.

Replace the battery. You can use the headphones even

without turning on the power. In this case, the noise

canceling function, Digital Equalizer and S-Master

are not active, and the headphones operate as passive

headphones.

Check the connection of the headphones and the AV

equipment.

Check that the connected AV equipment is turned on.

Turn up the volume of the connected AV equipment.

The noise canceling eect is not sucient.

Change the earbuds to another size that ts your ears.

Adjust the earbud position to t your ears comfortably.

e noise canceling function is eective in low

frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, or oces

(near air-conditioning, etc.) and is not as eective for

higher frequencies, such as human voices.

Turn on the headphones.

Distorted sound.

Turn down the volume of the connected AV

equipment.

Power does not turn on.

Check if the battery has expired (the POWER indicator

lights o). Replace the battery with a new one.

No operation works.

Set the POWER switch of the headphones to “OFF”,

conrm the connections, and then set the POWER

switch back to “ON”.

The sound of the connected source device,

such as radio and TV, cannot be heard, or

headphone sound is noisy.

Move the control box away from the connected source

device.

Installation d’une pile

1 Appuyez sur le couvercle des piles et faites-

le coulisser à fond à l’arrière du boîtier de

commande, puis ouvrez-le.

Avant d’ouvrir le couvercle, vériez que ses

crochets sont visibles.

2 Insérez une pile LR03 (AAA) dans le

compartiment des piles. Respectez la polarité

lorsque vous insérez la pile.

Insérez le côté 

3 Alignez correctement le couvercle des piles et

le boîtier de commande, puis faites coulisser le

couvercle pour le fermer.

Lorsque la pile est faible

Remplacez la pile par une neuve lorsque l’indicateur

POWER clignote ou s’éteint.

Vous pouvez utiliser le casque même sans mettre

l’appareil sous tension. Dans ce cas, la fonction

réductrice de bruit, l’égaliseur numérique et S-Master

sont inactifs et le casque fonctionne comme un casque

passif.

Installation des

oreillettes

Si les oreillettes ne rentrent pas correctement dans les

oreilles, l’eet réducteur de bruit ne sera pas optimal.

Pour optimiser la réduction de bruit et proter de la

qualité sonore, passez à une taille d’oreillettes diérente

ou ajustez-les pour qu’elles se positionnent parfaitement

et confortablement dans les oreilles.

Les oreillettes placées sur le casque sont de taille M. Si

la taille M ne vous convient pas, utilisez les oreillettes

de taille S ou L fournies. Vériez la taille des oreillettes

en regardant leur partie colorée. Lorsque vous changez

d’oreillettes, faites-les pivoter pour les enfoncer

solidement sur le casque an qu’elles ne se détachent pas

pour rester dans les oreilles.

Les oreillettes à isolation phonique fournies permettent

un positionnement parfait an d’atténuer ecacement

le bruit ambiant.

Remarques

L’utilisation prolongée des oreillettes à isolation phonique

peut être pénible pour les oreilles en raison de leur position. Si

vous ressentez une gêne ou une douleur dans les oreilles, il est

recommandé de faire une courte pause.

Le coussinet uréthane réduisant la pression est extrêmement

souple. Par conséquent, ne le pincez pas ou ne tirez pas

dessus. Si vous déchirez le coussinet uréthane ou le détachez

des oreillettes, il ne sera plus dans la bonne position et les

oreillettes perdront leur fonction d’isolation phonique.

Le coussinet uréthane réduisant la pression peut s’abîmer

s’il est rangé ou utilisé pendant longtemps. Si la réduction

de pression ne fonctionne plus et que le coussinet uréthane

devienne dur, les oreillettes peuvent perdre leur fonction

d’isolation phonique.

Ne lavez pas les oreillettes à isolation phonique. Conservez-les

au sec et évitez toute accumulation d’eau dans les coussinets

uréthane réduisant la pression. Le non-respect de cette

consigne peut entraîner une détérioration prématurée.

Pour sortir une oreillette

Tenez le casque, faites pivoter l’oreillette et tirez-la.

Conseil

Si l’oreillette glisse et ne peut pas être sortie, saisissez-la avec un

chion doux sec.

Pour xer une oreillette

Faites pivoter l’oreillette et enfoncez-la sur le casque

jusqu’à ce que l’extrémité de sa partie colorée soit

alignée avec .



2 Introduisez l’oreillette marquée  dans

l’oreille droite et l’oreillette marquée 

( a un point tactile pour une utilisation

simpliée) dans l’oreille gauche. Enfoncez

délicatement l’oreillette de sorte qu’elle s’insère

parfaitement dans l’oreille.

Remarque

Veillez à ce que les oreillettes s’insèrent parfaitement dans

les oreilles, sinon la réduction de bruit ne fonctionnera pas

correctement.

Ajustez les oreillettes pour qu’elles se positionnent

parfaitement et confortablement dans les oreilles.

Le casque est doté d’une protubérance à l’arrière. Elle

permet une insertion parfaite dans le creux de l’oreille.

La conception stable en élastomère thermoplastique exible

épouse le creux de l’oreille. Si l’oreillette ne se stabilise pas,

repositionnez-la.

3 Allumez le casque.

L’indicateur POWER s’allume en vert. Une fois

le casque sous tension, le bruit ambiant est

réduit et vous pouvez écouter de la musique

d’une façon plus claire avec un volume plus

faible.

Remarques

Lorsque vous allumez le casque, il se peut que vous entendiez

un léger siement. Il ne s’agit pas d’un dysfonctionnement

mais du son de mise en marche de la fonction réductrice de

bruit.

Ne couvrez pas le microphone du casque avec la main. Cela

pourrait perturber la fonction réductrice de bruit.

4 Allumez l’appareil AV.

Remarques concernant l’utilisation en avion

L’adaptateur de ches fourni peut être branché aux

prises doubles ou aux mini-prises stéréo des services

de musique en vol.

Utilisation de la

réduction de bruit IA

Réduction de bruit IA

La réduction de bruit IA est une fonction utile qui

sélectionne automatiquement l’un des modes de

réduction de bruit. Cette fonction propose le mode

de réduction de bruit le plus ecace en analysant

immédiatement les composants du bruit ambiant

lorsque la touche AI NC est enfoncée.

Enfoncez la touche AI NC.

Lorsque vous enfoncez la touche AI NC et que

l’interrupteur POWER est réglé en position « ON »,

le casque émet un bip sonore pour vous signaler que

l’unité commence à analyser les composants du bruit

ambiant (environ 3 secondes).

Pendant l’analyse, la reproduction sonore provenant de

l’unité s’arrête et l’indicateur POWER clignote.

Au terme de l’analyse, le mode de réduction de bruit

le plus ecace est automatiquement sélectionné et la

reproduction sonore provenant du casque démarre.

Types de modes de réduction de bruit

Mode NC A : le bruit principalement dans un avion est

ecacement réduit.

Mode NC B : le bruit principalement dans un bus ou un

train est ecacement réduit.

Mode NC C : le bruit principalement dans un bureau

(PC, photocopieur, ventilation, etc.) est

ecacement réduit.

Conseils

Lorsque vous allumez le casque, le Mode NC A est

sélectionné. (Reportez-vous à la section « Types de modes de

réduction de bruit » pour plus de détails concernant le Mode

NC A.)

Rappuyez sur la touche AI NC pour réinitialiser le mode de

réduction de bruit si le bruit ambiant a changé, par exemple si

vous quittez une pièce pour aller à l’extérieur.

Enfoncez la touche MONITOR lorsque l’interrupteur

POWER est réglé en position « ON », la lecture

s’interrompt et vous pouvez entendre le bruit ambiant.

Pour annuler cette fonction, rappuyez sur la touche

MONITOR.
